Bacon:
1) The word idol, to Bacon, meant phantoms or illusions. It is a good word to use because it represents the tinys things that represented the people of that time.
2) The Idols of the Tribe represent the true human nature and The Idols of the Cave represent how the walls of the cave will change the true nature of things. Not one Idol is more important than the other because they all rely on each other to represent everyone.
3) Intercourse is represented by Idols of the Marketplace and Individual reflection is represented by Idols of the Cave. No because the Idols give freedom. He would be more free the more he socialized.
Darwin:
1) Survival of the fittest means that the strongest, most capable individuals will survive and the weaker individuals that can not support themselves will die off. Examples are if unattractive individuals in any species are unable to reproduce then the ugly ones will die off, leaving only attractive individuals to reproduce and create a more attractive society.
2) Breeding is more direct. Natural selection is more chance. Breeding is more efficient. Natural selection is more important.
3) Cloning goes against Darwin's view because it is duplicating an individual whether they are fit to survive on their own or not. Cloning does undo natural selection because there is not supposed to be the same individual twice.
4) Human social policy ensures that the smartest and hardest working individuals will be the most well off, however the ones that cannot do this are protected from dieing off because of the social policies in place. Yes because they ensure everyone lives, healthy or not and make the human species as a whole less fit and less successful.

Plato:
1) Sensory knowledge is not as unreliable as Plato believes. He believes that it leads to ignorance and destructive social consequences. This can be true in some cases and sometimes the logical path is more reliable, however, listening to one's senses and gut feeling will lead to a better decision more times than not.
2) Yes because everyone will have a different gut feeling and this leads to heated discussions about what is a right move and what is a wrong move. An alternative would be to put a logical viewpoint into the mixture and have both sides evaluate that with their sense feeling.
3) The world would be very opinionated because everyone has a different sense feeling and sometimes does need a logical point of view to even the playing field.
4) Feeling in one's gut when a decision you made will lead to good or bad things.
Freud:
1) Yes because my dreams are usually events that I either want to happen or something that I fear will happen.
2) The ones that seem far fetched, then end up happening.
3) The dreams that frighten me are the ones where you feel like you fall and then jerk awake in your sleep with a racing heart.
4) They forget them because they happen and then a bunch of time passes before they have time to say them and remember them. I can usually remember my dreams if they happen close to when I wake up.
5) Yes because it happens in the brain, however it cannot be controlled.
